What the four days cover

Every domain in the NABCEP PV Associate job task analysis, in the order a system actually gets built. Six chapters, thirty-two lessons, taught live so you can interrupt and ask.

1. Day one — introduction. PV fundamentals, system types, components, and the safety concerns that shape everything after.
2. Day two — design. Irradiance and solar data, module IV and power curves, charge controllers, inverters, batteries, conductors and raceways, mechanical design, and the sizing calculations the exam leans on.
3. Day three — installation. Installation practice and commissioning, against code.
4. Day four — operations and maintenance. O&M, fault-finding, and the economics and site-survey material that sits under sales.

The course closes with a dedicated exam-preparation chapter. No prior NABCEP certification is required to take it, and none is required to sit the exam.

What it does not do

It does not certify you, and it is not a prerequisite. NABCEP sets, delivers and scores its own examination and does not require any particular course, including this one. What the exam costs, separately

The examination is not included in this course and is booked separately when you are ready. A seat is $240 CAD and covers the NABCEP examination fee, reserving your exam, and confirming your appointment with the proctor — one payment, with nothing further to pay NABCEP. You get a confirmation, choose your own date, and the instructions arrive by email. The standard sitting is proctored online from wherever you are; a sitting at one of our locations is by appointment, and a paper examination is available on request.
