Who this is the right product for

People working full-time, who will study in evenings that are not the same evenings every week. People outside Eastern Time, for whom a live Canadian class is the middle of the night. Working electricians and tradespeople, who will skip the first third and slow down on design. And anyone who would rather rewatch a calculation four times than ask about it once — which is a perfectly good way to learn and cheaper than the alternative.

People new to the field entirely, for whom being able to ask is worth the difference. Anyone whose employer is paying, because four fixed days is a predictable thing to buy. How long it really takes

Forty hours of material is not forty hours of work. Allow for rewatching the design content and for practice questions. At ten hours a week, four to six weeks including revision is realistic. At three hours a week it is a season, and that is fine as long as you are honest with yourself about it when you buy.

What is not included

The question bank is also separate, at $210 CAD. For most self-paced students it is the single most useful addition, because the knowledge checks confirm you understood a module and the question bank tells you whether you can answer an examination question about it, which is not the same thing.

Switching

You can move from self-paced to the live course within your access period, paying the difference. People do, usually after the design chapter.
