Everything written down, in one place.

Start wherever matches what you already know. Nothing here is gated and nothing is a teaser for something else.

If you know nothing about solar yet

• How solar panels actually work. From photon to panel to the meter, without arm-waving.
• How a solar installation actually goes. What happens on site, in order, and how long each part takes.
• The jobs in this industry. Including the ones that involve no roofs at all.

If you are deciding what to study

• Every solar credential in Canada, compared. With the prerequisites that decide which ones you can actually get. The most useful page on this site for most people.
• What NABCEP is and where it fits in Canada. Including what it does not do.
• Which programme you need, arranged by who you are rather than by what we sell.
• What it costs and who else might pay. Employers, tax credits, and lending for newcomers to Canada.

If you are preparing for the examination

• What is on the PV Associate examination. All six domains and where the marks go.
• Three worked questions. Full reasoning, including the calculation that decides most results.
• Multiple-choice technique. How the wrong answers are built.
• How to sit it from Canada. Formats, booking and what the seat fee covers.

If you work in the trade already

• What is new if you hold a trade. What you can skip, and the one thing that catches experienced people out.
• PV design — the arithmetic, taught against the Canadian Electrical Code.
• Installation, module by module.
• What changes at commercial scale.
• Storage, honestly — including what we do not cover.

If you want to run a solar business

• The programme.
• The licensing and setup checklist for a new Canadian solar company.
